AND, I panned my first Passier Lederbalsam!
On October 2 Ehren and I joined the first field of the Ottawa Valley Hunt Club at their '5A' fixture. We were on another live coyote hunt with the hounds, and they picked up a scent right away. The next 90 minutes or so were a roaring good time of galloping, dodging tree branches and flinging mud, and occasionally pulling up to listen to the pursuit. The coyote had the upper hand, as they usually do, and once he had thoroughly foiled his trail and exhausted the hounds, I watched Huntmaster Antony collect all 15 dogs around his horse as we quietly headed back to the trailers. What a morning! On October 5 we hosted Caylyn Walker for a Horseplay and Harmony Clinic to learn some new ways of connecting with our cherished equines. The weather was beautiful and the yard was full! Many thanks to Caylyn for coming our way, and to Verena Keller for organizing a great day. CLICK HERE to learn more about Caylyn and her methods. i was eager to explore this kind of training with Ludi since i knew his father Escudo II had been quite an attraction when he was at the German State Stud Farm, the Celle: Ludi has a couple more events to attend before the year is out: we just got in to the Dressage Clinic with Olympian Gina Smith on November 3 at Queenswood Stables, and I entered him into the 3.0' - 3.3' Jumping Group at the Clinic with Grand Prix rider Hyde Moffat at Noble Touch December 28-29.
